Stewart Cramer is an accomplished Senior Executive and Consultant with more than 35 years of success across the technology, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, and energy industries. Leveraging extensive experience leading innovative engineering teams and guiding complex strategies to deliver outstanding financial results in the aerospace and precision manufacturing sectors, he is a valuable asset for companies working on managing growth in manufacturing, due diligence on smaller companies for acquisitions, or on personnel development and building high-performance teams. His broad areas of expertise include tactical planning, team building, technology development, P&L, business development, continuous improvement, M&A, due diligence, operations, and change management.
Throughout his executive career, Mr. Cramer has held leadership positions at companies including Vertex Precision Manufacturing, Mercap Holdings Inc., Antares Consulting, and LAI International Inc. He is currently working with clients on fund-raising, process improvement, succession planning and senior staff recruiting; he also serves as a board member of executive search firm, Signium. As COO of investment partnership Mercap Holdings from 2014 to March 2018, he acted as CEO for their investment in Vertex, leading a group of Canadian manufacturers in collaborating to provide turnkey solutions to customers that doubled revenues from $9.5M to $16M, and established the company as a tier one aerospace supplier. This was preceded by a year as President of Antares Consulting, where he implemented a new product introduction process (NPI) for a precision manufacturing platform company owned by a very large private equity group. He previously spent more than a decade with LAI International in the role of President reporting to a board. Here he integrated five separate organizations into a single virtual enterprise, won preferred supplier awards from Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman and GE, and grew business more than 300% during his tenure. He earlier developed his aerospace expertise as a Senior Technical Specialist with Northrop Grumman. He also worked at McDonnell Douglas, Lockheed Martin and Hughes Aircraft Company. At Northrop Grumman, Stewart was selected to lead as small design-build team seconded to Lockheed Martin Aeronautical systems in Fort Worth, Texas to assist with the design of the F-35 aircraft. He was also Northrop Grumman's lead on the three-company highly successful Virtual Enterprise pilot to demonstrate how a geographically dispersed, multi-company team could successfully execute the design of an advanced fighter aircraft.
Stewart holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Arizona and an MS in Civil Engineering and Structural Mechanics from the University of Southern California. He has held board positions with the Arizona Manufacturing Council, Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), Ontario Aerospace Council (Chairman of Research and Technology Committee), the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (Chairman of the Labour-Market Committee), LAI International, and Vertex Precision Manufacturing.
