Karina Brito is a partner at Signium Brazil in charge of life sciences and health care.
With more than 20 years of experience in health care companies, Karina started her career at MSD where she held positions in development and implementation of clinical trials and regulatory affairs in Brazil.
After almost 8 years at MSD she moved to a Biotech company starting by Genzyme. At first she was dedicated to market access in Brazil. After 3 years she moved to market access and policy affairs for Latin America; covering Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela, Peru, Brasil and Uruguay. Karina leveraged the experience on Orphan Drugs of USA, EU and Japan to the countries in Latin America through their main stakeholders: government authorities; politicians; patient associations; key opinion leaders and pharma associations.
She later developed and implemented the strategy for market access for Biomarin, Synageva and most recently for Bioverativ. She also worked as a consultant in government affairs and market access for several biotech startups.
Karina is a pharmacist / biochemistry graduate from Sao Paulo University with a Masters Degree in Marketing and Health Economics.
