Jane Pittaway spent 25 years as a senior lawyer working in the UK and abroad for leading UK firms including relocating to Abu Dhabi in order to establish new Middle East offices. Renowned for taking on unusual, path-finding projects, Jane built a reputation for thinking outside the box, which served her well on projects such as advising on the UK’s flagship project for the Royal Navy – the multi-billion pound CVF Aircraft Carrier Alliance project. In addition to generating revenue, her leadership and management skills were recognised and put to good use as her firm appointed her group leader, overseas office managing partner, central head of international. She was also an elected member of the Management Committee. Jane’s exceptional understanding of client service led her to lead various key client accounts and she initiated and led various cross-firm BD initiatives, including pioneering the firm’s sector approach. She has broad international and intercultural experience having lived and worked not only in the UK but also in Europe and the Gulf and has often demonstrated her ability to adapt to new situations and challenges. Jane now brings her practical experience, legal skills and thought leadership to law firm management clients both on search mandates and advisory services. Her particular focus is on competitive advantage in particular around culture, growth and change, working to identify legal, strategic and practical solutions for clients who knew what they wanted but not always what they needed. She advises law firms, legal teams within corporates, partners, general counsel and other senior lawyers on leadership programs and executive coaching (using positive psychology techniques), focusing on personal and team development and performance including career transitioning. Jane is a natural coach and mentor and has excellent people management and team development skills.
Outside the law, she has pursued various business interests including establishing an award-winning boutique luxury hotel in Marrakech and renovating a farmhouse in France.
