Fraud Alert: Impersonation of Signium Consultants

Signium is aware of an ongoing fraud in which individuals are impersonating Signium consultants and contacting candidates about fake job opportunities.

Fraudsters may use the name, photograph and professional information of a real Signium consultant, along with Signium’s name and logo, to make their communications appear legitimate.

How to recognize the fraud

Signium consultants do not contact candidates via Gmail or other external email accounts; legitimate communications come from an official Signium country email domain.

If someone claiming to represent Signium contacts you from Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo or another personal email account, do not respond, do not send your CV/resume, do not click links or provide personal information.

Fraudsters may exchange several professional-looking messages with you before asking for money. A detailed job description, knowledge of your professional background, or use of a real Signium consultant’s identity does not mean the communication is legitimate.

Signium never charges candidates

Signium never charges candidates to participate in an executive search.

We will not require you to pay for CV/resume preparation, executive biographies, coaching or other services in order to be considered for an opportunity.

Any such request from someone claiming to represent Signium is fraudulent.

How to verify a Signium consultant

If you are uncertain whether a communication is genuine, do not use the contact information, links or telephone numbers provided in the suspicious message.

Instead, locate the consultant or Signium office independently through our official website and contact them using the information provided there.

If you received a fraudulent message

1. Stop communicating with the sender. Do not send additional information or make any payment.
2. Report the original message as phishing to your email provider. This is particularly important because the original message contains technical information that can help the email provider identify and take action against the fraudulent account.
3. If you use Gmail, open the message, click the three dots (⋮) next to Reply, and select Report phishing.
4. Report the incident to Signium using the form below. Your report helps us identify fraudulent accounts and report impersonation to the relevant service providers.
5. If you have already sent money or provided financial, identification or other sensitive information, contact your financial institution and the appropriate fraud or law-enforcement authority in your country.
