AIB has appointed Geraldine Casey as Chief People Officer. Casey has worked with Tesco for over 18 years, most recently as People and IT Director. She was also on the Executive Board of Tesco Ireland.
A & L Goodbody has appointed Patrick Brandt as Partner in the Financial Regulatory Team. Brandt was previously Of Counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in London.
Aston Lark, the UK Chartered insurance broker backed by Goldman Sachs, has announced the creation of two new Executive Board positions in Ireland:
Robert Kennedy has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer Ireland. He is currently Head of Sales & Distribution, Ireland with Aviva and worked with RSA Insurance Ireland Ltd prior to that.
Mark Nolan has been appointed Chief Financial Officer Ireland. He is currently Financial Controller Insurance Products at The AA (Ireland) and worked with Quote Devil Limited and Deloitte Ireland prior to that.
They will both join in March 2020, subject to standard regulatory approval.
Bank of Ireland has announced 2 senior appointments:
June Butler has been appointed Head of Sectors. Butler has worked with the organisation since 2003, most recently as Head of SME Banking.
Roisin O’Shea has been appointed Head of Food & Drink Sector. O’Shea was previously Commercial Director at Kinetica Sports Ltd. Prior to this, she was Category Controller at Valeo Foods, and Senior Marketing Controller at Robert Roberts Coffee.
Cairn Homes has appointed Shane Doherty as its new Chief Financial Officer effective from April. He is currently Group Chief Financial Officer with Morgan McKinley and worked with Gaelectric Holdings and PaddyPower prior to that.
Cardinal Capital has appointed Mike Maloney to its Senior Executive Team. Maloney was previously Chief Executive Officer at Payzone and his earlier career was in a number of multinational organisations in the IT, telecoms and fintech sectors.
CDB Aviation, the Dublin based aircraft lessor has announced the appointment of Patrick Hannigan as its new Chief Executive Officer. He has been President & Chief Commercial Officer since 2017 and worked with Avolon as Head of Europe, Middle East & Africa prior to that.
Dalata Hotel Group has appointed Shane Casserly as Corporate Development Director. Casserly has worked with Dalata since 2014, most recently as Head of Development & Strategy. Prior to this, he worked with Ion Equity for 6 years and with Jury’s Hotel Group for 3 years.
Davy has appointed Donough Kilmurray as Chief Investment Officer. Kilmurray joined Davy in 2019 as Investment Strategist. Prior to this, he worked with Goldman Sachs for 19 years, and was Head of Investment Strategy.
Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, has announced its expansion into the Irish market with two senior appointments:
Eavan Saunders will be Managing Partner of the Dublin office. She was a Senior Partner at William Fry.
Peter O’Brien, has been appointed as Chair. He moves from Matheson where he has been Partner Banking & Financial Services.
Dillon Eustace has announced the appointment of 3 new partners:
Richard Lacken has been appointed Tax Partner. Lacken has worked with the firm for 8 years and previously worked for Deloitte Ireland.
Philip Lea has been appointed Partner – Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions. Lea has been working with the firm for over a year and previously was an Associate at A&L Goodbody for 7 years.
Rachel Turner has been appointed Partner – Litigation and Dispute Resolution.
Elkstone, a company which provides wealth management, venture and real estate opportunities and alternative finance solutions, has announced 2 senior appointments:
Tanner O’Connell has been appointed as Investment & Finance Director. He has been with the firm since 2018 and prior to this worked with KPMG in Deal Advisory – Transaction Services.
Edward Yusko has been appointed Senior Business Development Executive. Yusko was previously Founding Director and Chief Executive Officer of Key Capital where he worked for 11 years. Prior to this he worked with Bank of Ireland and Merrill Lynch.
FAI (Football Association of Ireland) has announced a number of appointments to their board:
Roy Barrett has been appointed as independent Chairman. Barrett is Managing Director of Goodbody Stockbrokers.
Catherine Guy, Chief Executive Officer of Autolease Fleet Management Limited (Sixt Leasing) has been appointed to the board as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Guy worked with Byrne Wallace for 21 years, most recently as Managing Partner and Head of the Property & Construction Division.
Liz Joyce has been appointed to the board as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Joyce is Director of HR at the Central Bank, and previously worked with Pioneer Investments and Greenstar.
First Derivatives has announced the appointment of Seamus Keating as its CEO. He is currently Chairman of the group and was Non-Executive Chairman with Version1 prior to that.
Flutter Entertainment, the owner of Paddy Power Betfair, has announced the appointment of Pádraig Ó Ríordáin as Commercial Director and Chief Legal Officer. He joins from Arthur Cox where he has been a partner since 2001.
Greenhouse Software, the hiring software company has announced the appointment of Colm O’Cuinneain as General Manager EMEA to lead its European expansion out of its new base in Dublin. He joins from LinkedIn where he spent the last 3 years, most recently as Sales Director, Mid-Market & SMB, Benelux. He has previously worked with Oracle & Hewlett-Packard.
Heineken Ireland has appointed Paula Conlon as Marketing Manager – Cider. Conlon has worked with Heineken since 2014 and was previously Customer Marketing Controller. Prior to this, Conlon worked with Britvic for 3 years, most recently as Head of Commercial Operations.
Hibernia REIT has appointed Margaret Fleming as Non-Executive Director. Fleming worked with JLL Ireland for 32 years, most recently as International Director. She was also recently appointed to the Board of Directors for Activate Capital Limited.
Horseware Ireland has appointed Mark Saunders as Chief Executive Officer. Saunders has been with the company since 2017, and was previously Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to this, he worked with Bewleys Coffee for 8 years, most recently as Brand Director.
IQ-EQ, the leading global investor services group, has appointed John Legrand as Managing Director of UK and Ireland and member of its executive leadership team. He was MD for Asia Pacific at eFront prior to that, and previously worked with BNY Mellon for over 12 years prior to that.
Irish Life Investment Managers (Irish Life) has announced the appointment of Donal Keating as its new Head of Strategic Solutions. He joins after 7 years with PwC Ireland most recently as Director of PwC Ireland's Pension Solutions Group. He worked with Towers Watson prior to that.
John Paul Construction has announced the appointment of Liam Kenny as Managing Director. He joined the company in 2004 and has operated at Director level since 2011.
Lisney Ireland has appointed David Byrne as Managing Director. Byrne has worked with Lisney since 2001, apart from one year spent with Marsh & Parsons in the UK and was previously Director and Head of Lisney residential department.
Matheson has appointed David Fitzgibbon as Partner – M&A team. Fitzgibbon previously worked at William Fry for 13 years.
NAMA has appointed Aidan Williams to succeed Frank Daly as Chairman. Williams has worked for over forty years’ in international Capital Markets, investment banking, fund management and stockbroking. He is a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Unicredit Bank Ireland plc. and has recently been appointed a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Macquarie Capital Ireland DAC.
NTR plc, the sustainable infrastructure investor and asset manager that acquires, constructs and manages renewable energy projects, has announced the appointment of Helen Kirkpatrick to its board with effect from 1st January 2020. She is currently a director of Dale Farm Co-operative Ltd and Chairman of Neueda Ltd and was previously a director of Kingspan Group plc and UTV Media plc.
O’Flynn Exhams Solicitors, has appointed Shane Crossan as Managing Partner. Crossan has been with the company since 2007, and was made Partner in 2011. He previously worked with PJ O'Driscolls, Solicitors.
PM Group has made 2 appointments to its Board of Directors:
Helen Ryan was previously Chief Executive Officer of Creganna Medical, and has worked in the Medical Device Industry for over 25 years. Her previous roles were at Medtronic and Tyco Healthcare (Covidien). She is also a Board member of Enterprise Ireland.
Brendan Jennings was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte Ireland. Jennings has over 30 years’ national and international experience supporting the growth and development of Deloitte in Ireland and as well as advising international clients.
Queen’s University Belfast has appointed Hilary Clinton as Chancellor. Clinton was US Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013, and was First Lady of The United States from 1993 to 2001.
Ronan Daly Jermyn (RDJ) has appointed Eimear Desmond as its new People and Culture Director. She joins from Irish Distillers where she was HR Manager since 2019.
Rotunda Hospital has appointed Lucinda Woods as Governor. Woods previously worked as Strategy and Business Development Director with the UK based The Restaurant Group. Prior to this, she worked with Paddy Power Betfair for 3 years, most recently as Acting Head of Commercial Finance.
Shannon Group, the umbrella organisation for Shannon Airport Authority, Shannon Heritage, IASC and Shannon Commercial Properties has announced 2 senior appointments:
Rachael Leahy has been appointed Company Secretary. Leahy joined the organisation as Head of Legal in 2014, and is also responsible for Procurement. She will retain both roles. Prior to this, Leahy was a Partner with Michael Houlihan & Partners Solicitors and trained with Matheson.
Paul McNamara has been appointed Group Chief Financial Officer. McNamara has been with the group since 2014, and was previously Head of Finance. He was appointed Acting Chief Financial Officer in June 2019. Prior to this, he worked with NAMA for 4 years and PwC for 6 years.
University of Limerick has appointed Harvey Duthie as Vice President of Development and also Chief Executive at University of Limerick Foundation (the fundraising arm). Duthie was previously Senior Vice President at CCS Fundraising, where he worked for 10 years.
